You’ve got four chances to catch Lake Highlands High School’s performance of “South Pacific” this weekend. The Fine Arts Department will bring audiences the story of Nellie, the World War II-era nurse who falls for Emile de Becque, and the challenges two women awaiting the return of servicemen must face.

“South Pacific” is based on James A. Michener’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book, and LHHS students will put on the show Thursday, Jan. 24-Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. each night. To honor servicemen and women, there will be a 2 p.m. “Veteran’s Tribute Matinee” on Saturday.

Additionally, three (very recent) Texas All-State Choir inductees will be featured in the show. No doubt, the level of talent in these performances will be reason enough to pencil it in this weekend.

Tickets are $10 at the door and $5 for students, and seating is limited. General admission.
