awareness program that calls for every child to celebrate reading on Marc
h 2\, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. At some schools
\, books are desperately needed and research has shown that children growi
ng up in homes where books are readily available show greater success in s
 chool and life.   \n Monster Yogurt’s founder\, Ava Skipworth says\, “I gr
ew up with undiagnosed dyslexia and was not able to read a full book for m
ost of her childhood. In high school a special teacher mentored me. It tur
ned my life around. Monster Yogurt and MOM are  always looking for ways to
empower young people and create a positive legacy for the community.  Wha
t’s the point of owning a small business if you can’t give back? We’re loo
king forward to delivering enough books for each child to enjoy during Spr
ing Break. Many of the children would never own a book\, otherwise.” \n Ac
cording to the NEA’s website\, motivating children to read is an important
factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. R
esearch has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time read
ing\, do better in school. NEA's Read Across America also provides NEA mem
bers\, parents\, caregivers and children resources and activities to keep
them  reading 365 days a year.  \n Customers can drop off one or more boo
k(s) starting February 1st . With each donation\, they will  enjoy a treat
or discount as a reward. It is a great way to get everyone involved and k
now the impact their contribution has on a local child. I say that is a “s
weet” reward.  \n For more information\, media coverage on sales through F
