Avanti Senior Living of Flower Mound and Humane Tomorrow are coming together to host a “Paws and Claws Pet Adoption” event from 2-5 p.m. April 28 at the Flower Mound Senior Center, 2701 W. Windsor Drive.

The team at Avanti Senior Living of Flower Mound believes in supporting local organizations and activities that enhance the lives of seniors and families in the area.

Humane Tomorrow is a nonprofit, foster home-based animal rescue in Flower Mound run by volunteers. It will be running specials on senior pets. This event is being held in recognition of Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, which is celebrated on April 30.

In addition to adoptions, the two are encouraging people to bring items for donation, such as cat and dog toys, blankets, leashes, collars, water and food bowls, towels and monetary donations as well.

There will be a hot dog stand, informational booths on volunteering, fostering and adopting and a guest appearance by Ziva, Flower Mound Fire Department’s newest member. Ziva, a 1-year-old black Labrador, has a talent for detecting accelerants and will work alongside Fire Prevention Officer Jason Bolejack.
