Registration is now open for a unique program called Mornings with Mommy for children ages zero to five and their caregivers.

The first session will be held Thursday, September 14, from 10 a.m. through 11 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9807 Church Road, Dallas.

“Mornings with Mommy is a one-of-a-kind blend of story-time, playdate, and learning center that combine to meet the developmental needs of young children,” explains Amy David, Mornings with Mommy director. “It is a place where children can learn about their world through organized play activities and caregivers can connect with others in the same stage of life.”

This affordable program begins with Circle Time, where children and their caregivers share in songs, stories, and fingerplays that focus on a theme like “Things that Go” or “Colors and Shapes.” Next, sessions break into caregiver-led activities at the various learning centers: gross motor, fine motor, sensory, art, and infant area. Sessions close with a snack to share with friends or take to-go.

“As more young families move into Lake Highlands, this program is an exciting addition to our neighborhood. My goal is for Mornings with Mommy to be a gathering place for young families in our community so we can keep the close-knit neighborhood feel that is so special to our area.”

The September sessions of Mornings with Mommy will be held September 14 and 28. The cost is $5 per family. For more information or to register visit www.calvarydallas.org.
