he 9th annual Oak Cliff Flamenco Festival spans the entire month of October with events every week around Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, and The Cedars. Special guest performers include two of Spain’s most tempestuous artists. Nazaret Reyes and Paco de Andrea from Spain and their band of accompanists stopping in Dallas on a World Tour. Each event highlights the mesmerizing musical and dance arts of Andalucia. Producer Julia Alcantara boasts a 25+ year career in top quality flamenco productions and her nonprofit Flamenco Fever is at the helm of this incredible line up. The Festival’s “Grand Finale” performance on Saturday, October 28 (pending Oct 29th) will feature 8 artists direct from the Iberian Peninsula, who will take the audience on a journey through a wide range of emotions, from the elegant and joyous "Alegrias" to "Siguiriyas," the dance of death. This year’s cast is the result of a special collaboration with international mega star Joaquin Cortes who is currently on tour in the USA. As a result of Ms Alcantara’s historic invitation to present a show in Spain this Summer, certain members of his All Star cast of dancers and musicians will take the stage in Dallas on a break from their extensive tour. In contrast to their normal venues like Carnegie Hall, DFW will enjoy them in the intimate setting that suits the art from so well. Up close and personal is the best way to be transformed by the intricacies of flamenco footwork and guitar and song. The touring artists join the participants of the 6th annual Fall Flamenco Residency which provides top notch training and performances around Dalla/Fort Worth during Hispanic Heritage Month.Tickets to events at https://www.prekindle.com/search?s=flamencoPay What You Can Dance and Music ClassTuesday, October 3, 7 – 10pmOak Cliff Cultural Center223 Jefferson Blvd, Dallas 75208Artist Welcome DinnerTuesday, October 9 , 8 – 10pmCafé Madrid: 4501 Travis St, Dallas, 75205Reservations Recommended: 214.528-1731-Enjoy authentic Spanish tapas while the artists willmeet/greet over dinner and close the night with a short pop-up performance.Movie Night – Free EventWednesday, October 11, 8 – 10pmTexas Theater - free event231 W.
