While the residents of Lake Highlands await the news of whether or not Trader Joe's will settle in the area, they can at least chow down on some Texas-style Philly Cheesesteaks. Arlington's Cowboy Style Philly's is opening a location in Lake Highlands in the Plaza Bank Center Shopping Center. Steve Clary of Lake Highlands Today first reported the news.

Cowboy Style Philly's will be moving in the space that was previously used by Burger Spot. The arrival of the popular establishment is hopefully the turning point of what has been depressing news. After Burger Spot closed in October of 2010, the popular bakery, Sweet Temptations Bakery and Cafe, followed soon after.

Iron Point Titan, the new owner of the property, is encouraged by the arrival of Cowboy Style Philly and has hopes that several more, long-term tenants will soon also set up shop.

Glen Kitto, the Senior Asset Manager at Iron Point Titan, said, "We are pleased that Cowboy Style Philly's is now part of the Plaza Band Center and are currently negotiating with six other potential tenants. We hope to have several of them in the center by late summer - including a significant tenant.

"It is our intent to to fill up the shopping center with high quality tenants and turn the Plaza Ban Center around. We hope to quickly restore this landmark retail center to its position as a strong and vital entry point to the Lake Highlands retail market corridor."
