Former Lake Highlands High School student Becca Rutledge will offer local children an opportunity to attend summer camp in the neighborhood starting in June.

Rutledge, who majored in Elementary Education at Texas A&M, student-taught at Lake Highlands Elementary and currently teaches fourth grade at Plano ISD, is hosting five weeks of "Fun, Facts, and Fitness Camp" for incoming first- through fifth-graders at her home.

Young students can enjoy swimming, crafts, practicing their math skills, obstacle coursesand other activities at the camp.

"I have a passion for working with students and have been blessed with the opportunity to student-teach second grade at LHE this past semester [spring of 2013], work summer camps at Carolina Creek Christian Camp, YMCA camp and Pump It Up since my junior year of high school," Rutledge said.
