Solender/Hall helped Dallas Services purchase a 6,342-foot building near Presbyterian Hospital, 5442 La Sierra Dr., Dallas, Texas 75231, from Med Space, Inc. The building had been leased for medical use. Dallas Services will relocate its Vision Clinic and administration offices from its current location at 4242 Office Parkway. Terms were not disclosed, but Frost Bank provided the financing for the transaction.
According to Dr. Thomas Turnage, executive director of Dallas Services, “The new building will allow us to expand the number of children attending our Dallas Day School at the Office Parkway building and have a larger Vision Clinic at the new La Sierra location. We will be able to serve more families at both locations.”

According to Eliza Solender, “The property is both the ideal size and location for Dallas Services to serve more people. It is strategically located near Presbyterian Hospital with a DART rail station within easy walking distance.”
The mission of Dallas Services (www.dallasservices.org) is to enable individuals with disabilities and other special needs to achieve their potential by fostering community inclusiveness and independence. The programs are two-fold: The first is the Low Vision Clinic provides services for individuals experiencing permanent loss of vision which is not corrected with glasses, contact lenses, surgery, or medications and routine eye care for those experiencing vision loss that can be corrected with glasses and/or contacts. Dallas Services has a special emphasis on low-income children who have unmet vision care needs. There is a Saturday clinics schedules can be made where children can receive a full eye exam and glasses for $10. The second program is the Dallas Day School, which provides a year-round early education program for children with and without special needs in an environment that enables them to develop, learn and grow together.
