On Saturday, June 2, Audelia Road Library Friends and the local chapter of Future Organic Farmers of America welcomed Councilman Jerry Allen, the North Texas Community Gardener Association, and Lake Highlands gardeners in the Audelia Road Library Auditorium.

Attendees heard Councilman Allen discuss the importance of green spaces in the urban setting and the benefits of community gardening. Dallas County Master Gardener Marian Buchanon shared ideas on growing herbs and using them in the kitchen. Lowe's provided woodworking materials and instruction for younger attendees.
