The scorching summer heat is baking the area, but For the Love of the Lake still needs volunteers to pitch in and help out at the next Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up on Saturday, August 14. The work done by FTLOTL and its volunteers is one of the reasons White Rock Lake is the jewel of the City of Dallas.
Volunteers are asked to meet up at the FTLOTL office in Casa Linda Plaza at 8:00 a.m. to collect cleaning supplies and eat a complimentary breakfast to fuel up for the day. Volunteers will have their pick of Starbucks coffee, refreshing orange juice and rich chocolate milk from Oak Farms Dairy. There will be some snacks from Another Broken Egg Cafe and plenty of clean, bottled water from Rain Fresh.
Clean supplies will be provided by FTLOTL, including trash bags, recycling bags (courtesy of the City of Dallas Recycling Department), reach-it tools and gloves.
To learn more about the monthly clean-up, send an email to FTLOTL at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 214-660-1100.
