Police are currently on the lookout for five suspects they say committed a violent hate crime in Lake Highlands earlier this week. Police say the five attackers beat two men with baseball bats while shouting anti-gay slurs.

The attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13 near the corner of Audelia Road and Forest Lane. Police say the two victims were walking towards a corner store when their attackers approached in a dark, four-door sedan with tinted windows and 24-inch rims. Police believe the car is a Buick.

Two of the attackers wielded baseball bats, and one of the victims was struck multiple times in the head, which caused him to fall unconscious. Both men required medical treatment for their injuries.

Police believe that all five men are African-Americans in their 20's. The Dallas Police Department requests that anyone with information about the incident come forward. As the police have called this a hate crime, the punishment is much stiffer than for just a normal attack.
