On February 10, Lakehill's third grade students stepped into a museum. Not as visitors, but this time as the exhibits themselves.

To culminate a unit on Texas heroes and explorers, students had the unique opportunity to bring the person that they had researched to life, complete with amazing costumes, backdrops, and props. Students wrote their own speeches that they presented to a large audience in the auditorium.

Explorers and heroes, including Jose Antonio Navarro, Clara Driscoll, and James Bonham, filled the auditorium stage and aisles. One by one, they shared their stories and their contributions to Texas.

"We are so proud of the students' hard work, research skills, and creativity," said third grade teacher Meredith Sauer. "They have grown immensely this year. It was a wonderful celebration of Texas History."
