It was reported several weeks ago that Duncan's Beverages, located at the corner of Northwest Highway and Lawther Drive, was closing down. And now, it has been revealed that Winston Capital Corporation, which owns the property, is hoping to build an apartment complex in its place that will hold over 300 multi-family units.

The two big selling points of building an apartment complex in that area are that the White Rock DART rail station and White Rock Trail are both within close proximity. An added bonus for cyclists is the recently opened Bicycle Cafe Dallas, which is on the other side of Northwest Highway. Aside from offering delicious, healthy foods and drinks, Bicycle Cafe Dallas also has bike storage lockers, so apartment residents can walk over, retrieve their bikes and bike over to White Rock Lake.
