The Lake Highlands High School Mock Trial Team advanced to Region 10 Finals in the Dallas District Mock Trial competition at the George Allen Courthouse on Saturday, January 30.  It was a fierce competition that involved a civil case to determine whether the Defendant was responsible for shooting a drone that was invading his privacy.  Yet, equities weighed in favor of the plaintiff because the drone fell and killed a prominent working spokesdog.  The dog was the Plaintiff's best friend and he couldn't financially support himself without the dog.   The Final competition (to determine who will advance to state) is this Saturday, February 6.

The LHHS team members are:  Summer Brown, Kenton Wilhelm, Kendall McCumber, Brooke Elkjer, Tita Peterson, James Harding, Chloe Bidne, Jake Faulk, and Darrien McCumber.

One team member, James Harding, received all district outstanding witness.

The team is coached by Kim Elkjer, JD and Michael Hurst, JD and sponsored by Dr. Andie Morgan of LHHS.
