The University of Texas never lacks when it comes to signing some of top football talent in nation, but their latest signee actually hails pretty close to home. Lake Highlands outside lineman Kent Perkins, a four-star Rivals recruit, has verbally committed to Texas today after receiving an offer on Saturday.

Perkins is a right tackle for the Wildcats but experts are projecting him as a left tackle for the Longhorns. Perkins is a highly rated recruit - he's ranked No. 25 in the nation for his recruiting class by ESPN and was also recruited by LSU, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Baylor and Texas A&M.
