One of the biggest factors that high school seniors take into consideration when applying for colleges is the cost of tuition. Many times, students have to cross dream schools off their list because of the high prices that some college are charging. However, scholarships can help students and families alleviate some of those costs.

The Lake Highlands Women's League is offering scholarships to Lake Highlands High School seniors. In 2011, the LHWL gave away $90,000 in scholarship funds to 28 deserving students. The scholarships are given for one year and are awarded to students attending either a four-year or two-year institution.

Students have until Thursday, March 1 to fill out the application and return them to the Lake Highlands High School counseling office at 4:00 p.m. To learn more about the scholarships and to download the application form, check out the Lake Highlands High School PTA website.
