LimeBike

The nation’s leading dockless bike-sharing service, LimeBike, is offering Hurricane Harvey evacuees who are staying in Dallas access to its bikes for free. People can use the promo code “LimeRelief” to receive free access to the bikes now through September 21. LimeBike is also adding additional bikes near the Dallas Convention Center’s mega-shelter and other places where evacuees are staying.

In addition, LimeBike will donate revenue generated in August in Dallas to United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD). UWMD has established a dedicated relief fund in which 100 percent of contributions will go to nonprofits supporting those affected by the storms seeking shelter and long-term assistance in North Texas. To donate, visit https://unitedwaydallas.org/harveyrelief/.

Toby Sun, CEO and co-founder of LimeBike, said, “While the worst of Hurricane Harvey has passed, the impact has been on the families who have lost so much, and who have had to relocate to the Dallas area. We want to do our part by helping people get around the city while they’re here. We will also continue to keep those who have lost loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.”

In August, LimeBike rolled into Dallas as its first entry into the state and the company’s 6th market in the U.S., and has been working closely with Dallas city leaders, community organizations, and local businesses to expand coverage.

All bright green LimeBikes are GPS and 3G-enabled, making it simple for riders to find, unlock and pick up a nearby bike using the iOS or Android smartphone app. When their ride is finished, riders simply lock the bike's back wheel and responsibly park between the pedestrian-designated sidewalk and the street curb, or at a bike rack.
