Independence Day is a holiday that Americans celebrate because it represents the freedom that this country enjoys. So exercise that freedom and the body by signing up for the Independence Day 5K/10K race at White Rock Lake on Saturday, July 7. In addition, the race organizers are requesting that participants dress in patriotic colors.

The Independence Day 5K/10K will start Winfrey Point. Registration for this event can be done online until Thursday, July 5 at 11:59 p.m. After that, interested participants will have to arrive early on race day at 6:30 a.m. to register. Race day registration will close promptly at 7:30 a.m.

Both races begin at 8:00 a.m. and the kids' race will be at 9:00 a.m. The awards for the winners of the 5K race will be held at 9:30 a.m. while the awards for the 10K will be immediately after at 9:45 a.m. The event organizers encourage everyone, even those that aren't racing, to come out and show their spirit.
