To help promote creativity in youth and to get the word out about their show, "PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL," the Dallas Children's Theater is hosting a costume design contest for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The students will be designing costumes for the bees, butterflies and birds that will appear in the show.

Every single entry that is entered will be prominently displayed in the Dallas Children's Theater lobby during the entire run of the show for everyone to admire. One grand prize winner will have their creation brought to life onstage, have a bio in the program, receive four tickets to opening night and be recognized on stage. The additional students will receive special recognition in three different age categories: kindergarten through third grade, fourth grade through eighth grade and ninth grade through twelfth grade. The three students that receive special recognition will have their names in the show program, two tickets to opening night and recognition on stage.

PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL will start running on September 21 and will end on October 21. The show is being directed by Dallas Children's Theater resident artist and Education Director Nancy Schaeffer. The costumes are being designed by Lyle Huchton. Huchton is a local star who has received two Daytime Emmy Outstanding Costume Design Nominations in 2008 2009 for his work on "Barney and Friends."
