At the annual National Cheerleaders Association spirit camps, which are held at nearby Southern Methodist University, two Lake Highlands cheerleaders were selected for the very prestigious honor of being named an All-American.

Senior varsity cheerleader Chelsea Brown and Monica Kelly, senior mascot for the Wildcats, were nominated as All-Americans at the Dallas cheer camp by the NCA coaches. Following their nomination, the girls performed well enough at their tryouts to earn their All-American status.
