The Goss-Michael Foundation has always sought to support and encourage the student artists in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and as part of that initiative, it has hosted the Goss-Michael Foundation Student Art Contest for five years running. This year, the winner was selected from the local Lake Highlands High School.

This year's winner is Elizabeth Housewright, who won with her photographic series Human. The theme for this year's contest, "HUMAN It-arian," was chosen in recognition of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) - a glocal humanitarian relief organization that provides children with health care and immunizations, as well as clean water, nutrition and food.

Housewright was awarded $1,000 for winning first place and she will be featured in the Foundation's monthly newsletter and on the Goss-Michael website.
