CVS pharmacist Susan Daniel administers the flu vaccine to Elizabeth Puga, patient of Healing Hands Ministries Medical & Dental Clinic. CVS/pharmacy and Direct Relief USA partnered with Dallas-based Healing Hands to offer free flu shots to uninsured patients on Thurs., Nov. 3.

CVS/pharmacy and Direct Relief International teamed up on Thursday, November 3 to provide free flu shots for the existing uninsured patients of the Healing Hands Medical & Dentist Clinic in Lake Highlands. CVS pharmacists were on hand at the clinic to give patients their annual flu vaccination.

In total, CVS/pharmacy and Diret Relief USA provided up to $6 million in free flu shots to community clinic and health center patients across the country. Without this aid, many of people would have likely contracted the flu and been unable to see the doctor due to lack of insurance. CVS/pharmacy and Direct Relief USA helped ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving a vaccination during the flu season.
