The Junior League of Dallas (JLD) recently appointed a new Board of Directors for its 2022 – 2023 year. Following the Centennial year, the new Board of Directors is committed to kick starting the next century by developing the potential of women, promoting voluntarism, and addressing the critical needs in Dallas through the effective action and leadership of the League’s trained volunteers.

This year’s Board of Directors includes: Emily Somerville, President; Christina Eubanks, President-elect; Isabell Novakov-Higginbotham, Administrative Vice President; Jacqueline Wasem, Communications Vice President; Katy Ratley, Community Vice President; Marisa Partin, Development Vice President; Lanasha Houze, Diversity & Inclusion Vice President; Rhonda Williams, Finance Vice President; Heather Lorch, Membership Vice President; Lara Bubalo Manor, Secretary; Megan Ladriere White, Signature Projects Vice President; Kristen Shear, Strategy Vice President; Jessica Pantano, Training Vice President; and Bonner Allen, Sustainer Advisor.

There are many exciting projects and events the League is looking forward to this coming year. This summer, JLD will offer a Diversity & Inclusion Summer Series for members for the third consecutive year starting in July. The JLD also recently announced its Centennial project, the Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights House, has been added as a signature project for the League. Additionally, JLD’s beloved Auction will be returning November 5, 2022, at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. 

“Last year was dedicated to the reflection of our history while celebrating the women who have dedicated their service to the city of Dallas. This year, we look toward the next century to determine how we can best achieve our goals and continue to provide support for the Dallas community. We have made it our goal to revive the membership experience, redefine community, and reimagine training. We are honored to serve as the Board of Directors for the 2022 – 2023 year, and we look forward to the next 100 years of service,” said JLD President Emily Somerville.

The Junior League of Dallas cultivates leaders who collectively address the critical needs of the community. Founded in 1922, JLD is one of the largest Junior Leagues in the world, as well as the largest and oldest training organization for women in Dallas. Active members range in age from 22 to 49 with approximately 85% percent of women employed outside of the home.
