Sherwood Wagner will serve as Honorary Chair for DSOL Presentation Ball

Sherwood Wagner will serve as the Honorary Chair for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League  36th Annual Presentation Ball which will be held on Saturday, February 12 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Sherwood is a longtime supporter of the DSO and the Dallas community through her involvement with numerous charities in Dallas. Her time and talent make a positive impact for the community with the arts and other civic activities. Elizabeth Gambrell is the Presentation Ball Chair and Venise Stuart is the DSOL President. 

“Sherwood has been a longtime supporter and contributor to the DSO,” said Elizabeth Gambrell. “It is because of these contributions that the Dallas Symphony is able to introduce and educate the youth of Dallas by bringing the gift of music to them.”    

Sherwood Noël Wagner grew up in Midland and is a graduate of Hockaday and Texas Christian University. After graduation from college, she worked for public relations firm PSI in Dallas. She comes from a philanthropic family whose contributions to the arts in west Texas are numerous and include the Ellen Noël Art Museum in Odessa and the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center in Midland.

Sherwood’s support of the arts and other civic activities shows her passion for making a difference in our community. She is involved with various charities in Dallas and west Texas. She served as president of Women’s Auxiliary of Girls, Inc. of Dallas for two terms and has held board positions for the USA Film Festival, Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and Parish Episcopal School. She served as Honorary Chair for the 2016 AT&T Dallas Symphony Orchestra Opening Gala and was Honorary Chair for the 2015 Mad Hatter’s Tea and the 2019 Aging Mind Foundation Gala. She is a longtime supporter of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society and has supported the DSO Gala, Cattle Barons Ball, Crystal Charity, and Association of Major Symphony Orchestra Volunteers. True to her west Texas roots, she has held various board positions for The Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center (Midland) and The Ellen Noël Art Museum (Odessa). 

The proceeds from the Presentation Ball will benefit the Dallas Symphony Association and its education and community outreach programs. Some of the quality outreach programs the League supports are: DSO on the Go, Community Concerts and Performances, Cecil and Ida Green Youth Concerts, Symphony Yes!, DSO Kids, Young Strings and Young Musicians.
