Celebrate October by indulging in a savory grilled bratwurst and a cold beverage at the 2nd Annual Lake Highlands Oktoberfest this Saturday, October 6.

The family-friendly event, sponsored by the Lake Highlands Exchange Club, is back again after much success in its first year. The 2012 Oktoberfest will feature plenty of good eats—think warm pretzels, wood-fired pizzas and buttery popcorn—and some tasty sips, as a variety of beers from Franconia Brewing will be available for purchase. And be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket, because you'll want to sit and relax while you listen to live music, including bands like Two Tons of Steel and The Kings Bucks.

While you're kicking back, the kids can discover the petting zoo, an obstacle course, and plenty of entertaining shows in the Kids' Theatre area. From magicians to dance troupes, there's something to keep every little one enthralled.

All the fun kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Lake Highlands Town Center, located at 9200 Walnut Hill Lane. Admission is free, but you'll need to purchase tickets to enjoy the food, drinks, and to enter the Kid Zone. Parking is five dollars.
