On Thursday, November 16th, 2017, Highlander School 6th graders partnered with Lake Highlands Military Moms and Exchange Club of Lake Highlands to pack care boxes for soldiers. These packages will arrive before Christmas and will help brighten the holidays for Lake Highlands and Highlander family military who are serving overseas.
The packing of boxes is a beloved, annual service project for the Highlander 6th graders. Under the guidance of Lake Highlands Military Moms, students collected donations of toiletries, snacks, magazines, Christmas decorations, and more from Highlander families, which resulted in 33 very full boxes. Exchange Club of Lake Highlands graciously covered the shipping costs and mailed the boxes to 11 soldiers (friends, relatives, and members of the LH community) to share with others serving with them.
