The Lake Highlands Varsity Wrestling team had an awesome weekend Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 as they repeated as Tri-State Champions at the Lake Highland’s Tri-State Wrestling Tournament. 

Twenty-three teams competed in the tournament. Lake Highland's team scored 212 points to outdistance Coppell, which scored 185 points to come in second.

Six wrestlers advanced to the finals to compete for first place. Three wrestlers took home the gold. Placing first were Senior Dylan Domizio and juniors Thayer Atkins and TJ Grieder. Placing second were Seniors Deandre Neroes, Todd Fullerlove and Isaiah Johnson. Three wrestlers placed fourth, including senior Trevor Gin, junior Kap Lian and sophomore Seth Villasana. 

The JV wrestlers also had a great weekend. Seven individuals placed first. They were sophomores Connor Bosch, Reid Curnutt, Sam Ketchmark, Martin Kight, and Jordan Lockhart, as well as juniors Kendrell Willis and Van Thim.

The Lake Highlands Wildcat Wrestling team takes on Highland Park this Friday, Dec. 14 in the Lake Highlands small gym. JV starts at 6 p.m. and Varsity starts at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 15, Lake Highlands hosts a Quad Dual with Richardson Berkner, Keller Central and Arlington Lamar. Wrestling starts at 9 a.m.
