I guess Blitzen was having a bad day when Santa and his crew brought him to Casa Linda Plaza for the annual tree-lighting event. The reindeer, which had an ample antlers, need to cool his hooves for a while after almost goring a bystander waiting to have their picture taken with Santa Claus.

Still, people crowded around the stage set up in the El Fenix parking lot inside Casa Linda Plaza to watch choirs from Reinhardt Elementary, Hexter Elementary, Alex Sanger Elementary, and Bryan Adams High School perform a long list of Christmas favorites. As a grand finale, old St. Nick flipped the switch, lighting up the Christmas tree in Casa Linda Plaza.

"This feels a little bit like New Year's Eve, doesn't it?" Santa asked the crowd of children just before they counted down in unison.

Here's hoping Blitzen was in a better mood before they got back to the North Pole.
