René Barrera was honored with the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce 2020 “Chairman’s Award” at a luncheon on January 21 at Lakewood Country Club. The award is given annually to an individual for their significant contributions to the Chamber through their professional experience, community engagement and leadership. Barrera is the manager of the Ebby Halliday REALTORS Lakewood Lake Highlands office. He serves on the Chamber board and is the current chair of the Legislative & Economic Growth Committee. He is hard working, positive, energetic and exemplifies what every Chamber Board member should strive to be like.

In his role at Ebby Halliday REALTORS, René was DBest Top Producer and Real Estate Agent for past 3 consecutive years. He is a past Director and active member of MetroTex Association of Realtors, a graduate of the Leadership Academy, past member of the Government Affairs Committee, and Board of Directors, Trepac Chair and Vice Chair, Community Outreach, PAC, Budget and Finance Committee and Young Professionals Network Liaison to Board of Directors. Other affiliations Rene has are past East Dallas MLS Coordinator and past National Association of Realtors Federal Political Coordinator to U. S. Congressman Jeb Hensarling, 5 th District of Texas, East Dallas MLS Committee Coordinator and NAHREP of Dallas Treasurer. Rene's greatest achievment was the Lois Hair Bernays Cup recognizing Salesperson of the Year for the MertoTex Association of Realtors with over 20,000 members.
