The Lake Highlands High School Mock Trial Team competed in the Dallas District Mock Trial competition at the George Allen Courthouse on Saturday, January 31.   It was a fierce competition that involved a criminal case to determine whether the Defendant was guilty of pushing her best friend out of a window to gain insurance money and acquire ownership of the business.  Yet, equities weighed in favor of the defendant because the deceased was her best friend and she couldn't run the business without him.

The LHHS team members are: Shelby Killoran (co-captain), Summer Brown (co-captain), Valeria Escalante, Tita Peterson, James Harding, Nahiyan Khan, Kenton Wilhelm, Robert Arends, Brooke Elkjer & Emily Hohnstein.

Two team members, Brooke Elkjer and Emily Hohnstein, received honorable mention for all district best advocate.

The team is coached by Michael Hurst, JD and Kim Elkjer, JD and sponsored by Dr. Andie Morgan of LHHS.
