Dallas’ favorite community farmers market - White Rock Local Market kicks-off the 2015 season with a new look and a new name for the collection of popular markets.  New managing organization is Good Local Markets includes only local growers and makers at the three market locations.

“Good Local Markets will continue the mission started by White Rock Local Market, creating economic opportunities for local growers and makers, while bringing good food to Dallas residents,” says GLM Director Sarah Perry. “Good Local Markets will be the umbrella organization for all programming – Good Kids classes, volunteer days, workshops and annual cooking contests including our popular Chili Cook-Off slated for April 19.”

White Rock Market is held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the original Green Spot Market and Fuels location (702 North Buckner Boulevard) which includes the inaugural market on March 14. 

Vickery Meadow Market is held every Sunday beginning March 15 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 5803 E. Northwest Highway in the SW corner of the Half Price Books flagship store parking lot.

The 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month Lakeside Markets are located at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9150 Garland Road beginning March 21.

With more than 100 vendors throughout the year, popular vendors at Good Local Markets include Alpha Omega Acres, Baugh Farms, Blue Yarn Farms, Brazos Valley Cheese, Cita’s Salsa, Empire Baking Company, Fisher Family Farm, Good Earth Organics, JJ&B Jams and Jellies, JuHa Ranch, Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters, Texas Honey Bee Guild, Texas Worm Ranch and many more. 

Good Local Markets is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization which supports local farmers, ranchers and artisans by providing a public space to sell fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats, hand-crafted foods and other products while serving thousands of residents looking for healthy and locally sourced foods.    Additionally Good Local Markets offers the Lone Star food stamp program, Love Your Farmer volunteer days, educational programs and workshops.
