Although Lake Highlands won a major battle in the Dallas redistricting fight by getting Redistricting Commission member Domingo Garcia to alter his cPlan16 - Unity Map - so that Lake Highlands could stay largely intact, there is still plenty left to do.

There is a public hearing on council district redistricting on Saturday, August 20 and the Lake Highlands Area Improvement Association is calling on residents to show up and make their voices heard. The hearing is at 2 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall. There is a large crowd expected so anyone interested in attending is advised to arrive by 1:30 p.m. to get a seat.
