When applying for college, there are certain things on an application that can put an applicant over the top. The members of the admissions board are always looking for things like a 4.0 GPA or a perfect score on the SAT or 2000 hours of community service. Being a National Merit Semifinalist is another thing that can swing an acceptance letter in an applicant's favor, as three students of Lake Highlands High School will soon be able to attest to.

Sarah Blettner, Jacob Gaba and Parker Starr were all named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Around 16,000 students were named nation-wide and just over 400 are from the North Dallas area.

Congratulations to these Wildcats and good luck to all seniors in their college applications.
