The Lake Highlands football team has had an extra week to look at tape, work on fundamentals and figure out how to get themselves out of their current slump. Now, they'll get their chance to see if it's all paid off when they play Samuell High School on Friday, September 23 at home.

The Wildcats started off the 2011-2012 season with a strong showing at home but have since scored only 14 points in the last two games that have resulted in losses. The Wildcats will need both their running backs, DeVonte Sunwenghan and Jacobi Johnson, to spark an offense that has been stagnant the past two games. Sunwenghan has rushed for 207 yards and four touchdowns on the season, which accounts for half of all points by the Wildcats.

Samuell High School is a good opponent for the Wildcats to build some confidence against. The Spartans haven't won a game yet this season and have only scored 15 points all together. Their quarterback, Kamron Jones, has more interceptions (5) than touchdowns (2).

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
