Prestonwood Christian Academy Signing Day

Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) honored seven student athletes who signed Letters of Intent to continue their education and play sports at the collegiate level.

 

Camille Edwards signed to play volleyball at the University of Michigan. Camille has attended PCA since her freshman year, playing varsity volleyball for the past four years. She earned District Setter of the Year her freshman, sophomore, and senior years. As a setter for PCA, she is a four-time First Team All-District recipient, two-time First Team All-State recipient, and has received other accolades. She has broken the school record of assists by amassing over 3,400 assists during her time as a varsity athlete. 

 

Jadyn Livings signed to play volleyball at the University of Southern California. She has attended PCA since 7th Grade. Jadyn has been on the varsity volleyball team at PCA since her freshman year, earning herself district MVP her sophomore year and Offensive Player of the Year her senior year. Hitting for PCA, she is a four-time First Team All-District recipient, four-time First Team All-State recipient, and has received other accolades. She has amassed over 1,400 kills hitting at PCA. 

 

Mikala Young signed to play volleyball at Texas Christian University. She has attended PCA since 7th Grade. Mikala has been a part of varsity volleyball since her freshman year, earning herself First Team All-District four times. Hitting for PCA, she is a two-time State All-Tournament team recipient, two-time First Team All-State recipient, and has received other accolades. During her time hitting at PCA, she has amassed over 1,200 kills. 

 

Louis Bussard signed to play baseball at Abilene Christian University as a pitcher and outfielder. He has attended PCA for six years. He was a 2022 PCA Baseball State Champion team member along with a District Champion team member in 2022 and 2023. Louis was also part of PCA’s nationally ranked team in 2023. He was named TSA All- American, TAPPS First Team All-State, TAPPS All-District, a member of the 2023 Dallas Tigers Connie Mack World Series Champion team, and team captain in 2023. “Louis will be joining Head Coach Rick McCarty and the Abilene Christian University Wildcats baseball program,” said Head PCA Varsity Baseball Coach, James Vilade. “Louis’s grit and talent shine every time he takes the field. He has really grown as a player over the past two years. Louis always puts in the extra time and effort towards his game. When Louis takes the field, you know what you are going to get…simply put, everything he has. We are excited for him to help the ACU program continue an outstanding tradition while serving his new baseball community. Louis will definitely use his strong faith to impact others while continuing the winning tradition in Abilene.”       

 

AJ DePaolo signed to play baseball at Vanderbilt University as a catcher. He has attended PCA for four years. He was a 2022 PCA Baseball State Champion team member along with a District Champion team member in 2022 and 2023. AJ was also part of PCA’s nationally ranked team in 2023. He was named two-time Blue Jays Scout team member, two-time Texas Rangers Area Code team member, TAPPS First Team All-State, TAPPS All-District, District Newcomer of The Year, MVP Catcher-Pudge Rodriguez Classic, and team captain in 2023. “We are proud and excited that AJ will be taking his talents to Vanderbilt University, one of the most recognized and decorated NCAA Division I baseball programs in the country,” said Head PCA Varsity Baseball Coach, James Vilade. “Coach Corbin and the Commodores, better known as the Vandy Boys, are getting a driven, impact player with a play winning baseball mentality. His talent and toughness as a player complement his heart to share the game and serve his community. He will do great things in Nashville as he takes his strong faith and great talents to Vandy.”

 

Chris Patterson signed to play baseball at the University of Missouri as a shortstop. He has attended PCA for two years. Chris was a District Champion team member on PCA’s nationally ranked team in 2023. He is a two-time MLB Dream Series alumnus, two-time Rawlings Top Prospect, two-time New Balance Future Stars team member, two-time Hank Aaron Alum, three-time USSSA All-American, MLB Breakthrough Series Alumnus, and PG Preseason All-American. “Christopher came to PCA as a Junior and helped lead our team to a high school baseball National Ranking and a District Championship,” said Head PCA Varsity Baseball Coach, James Vilade. “As Chris moves on to the Missouri campus, he will bring baseball versatility to the Tigers and an even stronger faith. Under the direction of Head Coach Kerrick Jackson, Chris will have a unique opportunity to play in a great program with Christian values. His two years of spiritual and baseball growth on our campus has been great to be a part of.”        

 

Gabe Sipes signed to play baseball at Ouachita Baptist University as an outfielder. He has attended PCA for 13 years. Gabe was an All-District Selection and 2023 District Champion team member on PCA’s nationally ranked team. “Gabe is a relentless worker with a strong passion for his school and team,” said Head PCA Varsity Baseball Coach, James Vilade. “Gabe is truly a servant leader on all accounts. His work on and off the field has impacted so many and he has been a great leader on our campus. Gabe’s passion for baseball and strong desire to serve others will lead him to even more success during his collegiate career. Gabe’s love for the Lord and the baseball field will continue to take him to amazing heights.”        

Prestonwood Christian Academy School System is made up of four schools serving students across the Dallas Metroplex and virtually throughout the world. More than 2,200 students are enrolled at three campuses: PCA Plano (Pre-K3 through 12th Grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-K3 through 12th Grade) and PCA Online. St. Timothy Christian Academy in Plano serves students with learning differences.
