Lake Highlands Wrestlers competed at Grapevine Duals last weekend (1/6-7). The competition was tough against several state ranked opponents from Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Oregon and New Mexico. The LHHS Wrestlers placed high enough in their first round pool to compete in the Championship bracket but did not end up placing at the tournament.
Top wildcat records for the tournament: (Total of 7 matches)
Daniel Kidd 7-0
Angel Hernandez 6-1
Ty Meara 6-1
Last night the LHHS Wrestler hosted their final home dual of the wrestling season.
The dual was a nail biter with the final match determining the winning team and giving the LHHS the win 32-30 over Carrolton Creekview. The highlight matches of the night were Angel Hernandez at 126 defeating a state ranked wrestler and John Allen, the final match of the night, whose win put LHHS over the top for the win!
This weekend (1/14) the Wildcat Wrestlers travel to Klein High School in Houston to compete at the State Dual tournament. All the top Texas teams will be there and the competition will be tough. Go Cats!
