When the Lake Highlands wrestling team goes to Wylie East High School on Saturday, February 4 for the district meet, they aren't just confident they'll win it all; in fact, they're expecting to win it all. That's the mindset of an organization that is seeking its fifth straight district championship and 20th overall.

The Wildcats have had a phenomenal year with three first place tournament trophies - the Jesuit Tournament, the Saginaw Tournament and the Tri-State Classic. For the season, the team is 27-4 in dual meets and recently finished fourth at the state dual tournament.

As the team gears up for the District Meet, Regional Meet and hopefully the UIL State Tournament, most eyes will be on the three state-ranked, undefeated wrestlers that are leading the charge. D'Andre Brumfield is 36-0 while Thayer Atkins and Nathan Schulman are both 45-0. All three are defending champions in their respective weight classes.

The district meet will be at Wylie East High School at 9:00 a.m. for those interested in watching.
