Just last week, BubbleLife wrote about Lake Highlands baseball player Michael Ketchmark, Jr. being selected for the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State team. This week, the honors keep pouring in for Ketchmark, as well as several other players on the team.

Ketchmark was named the 2012 Offensive Player of the Year. According to The Dallas Morning News statistics, Ketchmark led the team with 40 base hits and had a batting average of .455. He had 21 RBIs and also scored 20 runs.

The First Team All-District had three Lake Highlands players on its roster - junior Hudson Taylor, junior Beau Barnes and sophomore Chris Dyer. Taylor was the main pitcher for the Wildcats; he threw over 45 innings and struck out 45 batters while walking only 18. Barnes played a variety of positions in the infield and pitched a few innings as well. Dyer was used in numerous positions and was even a pitcher when called upon.

Three other Wildcats were named to the Second Team All-District - junior Colton Bradley, junior Alex Irion and senior Sean Guion. Bradley was the primary catcher for the team and was also its RBI leader with 34. Irion helped anchor the infield at either second base or shortstop while Guion roamed in the outfield.
