The Lake Highlands 2011-2012 baseball team celebrates after defeating McKinney Boyd in the first round of the playoffs.

Being named to a Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THSBCA) All-State team is one of the highest honors a high school baseball player can earn. This year, one Lake Highlands High School player earned this distinctive honor.

Third baseman Michael Ketchmark, Jr. was named to the THSBCA All-State second team. According to stats provided by The Dallas Morning News, Ketchmark had a team-leading 40 hits in 88 at-bats, which gave him an average of .455. He had 10 doubles, five triples and one home run. His 21 RBIs was second on the team.

Ketchmark and the Lake Highlands baseball team finished the 2011-2012 season with an overall record of 20-14-1. The team finished third in District 9-5A and had a district record of 11-4. The Wildcats made it through the first round of the playoffs by defeating McKinney Boyd in a three-game series. However, the team was swept by Temple in the second round to end the season.

Congratulations to Michael Ketchmark, Jr. on a successful 2011-2012 season and earning a berth to the THSBCA's All-State Team.
