Anyone looking to get a jump-start on their holiday shopping should make a stop at the 2011 Market in the Meadow at Forest Meadow Junior High this weekend. Hundreds of vendors will be selling unique gifts and specialty merchandise for two days and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Forest Meadow Junior High PTA.

This is the 28th time that Forest Meadow has hosted Market in the Meadow, and it’s looking to be the biggest version of it yet. The event will open on Saturday, October 15 at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. It will reopen at 11 a.m. on Sunday before the event ends at 5:00 p.m. Entertainment, in the form of bands, choirs, orchestras, cheerleaders, drill teams and dance teams from Lake Highlands schools, has been booked for the entire weekend, so there should be no shortage of things to do, see and hear.

There will be over 180 vendors with booths set up all over the site. They will be selling everything from clothing & accessories, to various types of art and even home decor and gifts. A full list of all the vendors that will be present at Market in the Meadow can be found on the event’s website.

It’s a big event and there will be lots of walking involved in order to see everything, which, of course, makes a person hungry. There will be several food vendors on site to satisfy everyone’s appetite, including Picasso’s Pizza, Chick-Fil-A and White Rock Coffee.

It's a can't-miss-event so come out and get your holiday shopping done early at Market in the Meadow this weekend.
