Several exciting events are coming up in the Lake Highlands community.

The Lake Highlands High School Varsity Wildcats are kicking off their regular season at Wildcat Ram Stadium Friday, Aug. 30, when the team will take on the Mesquite High School Skeeters.

LHHS mom Shannon Whitlock is your go-to contact if you want a spot at every home football game the Wildcats play this year.

Season tickets are $35 and allow entry to all five home games. To purchase season tickets, contact Whitlock at shanwhitlock0@gmail.com or 972.743.8458.

As a way to pump up Wildcat fans, the entire Lake Highlands community is invited to join the 2013-2014 LHHS football team, cheerleaders and Bell Boys on the field at the Boneyard.

The event called Picture Night, formerly known as Media Day, is taking place Friday, Aug. 16 from 6-7:30 p.m.

It will be a photo opportunity and a family friendly time. Players and cheerleaders will be posing for snapshots with fans in front of the Wildcat tunnel, plus Jo Dawgs Food Truck and Kona Ice are selling treats.

Kona Ice is donating 20 percent of its profits to the Wildcat Club.

"Come out [and] cool off with a refreshing shaved ice and gourmet hot dog from Jo Dawgs," Whitlock said. "Please join us for this fun, new community event and spread the word!"
